Grilled Flank Steak and Marinade

What is Summer without spending time grilling for your friends and family? If you’re looking for a good steak marinade, especially for flank steak, this is it! I always get a ton of compliments on this one!

Summer to me means getting together with friends and family, popping open a cool beverage, and making the most of that grill! This marinade recipe will always be a crowd pleaser, and will smell so delicious you'll want to make it all the time! Flank steak, or another similar meat like carne asada, are cheaper cuts, so the key to making them tender is the marinade process.

Marinade

¼ c balsamic vinegar

2 T Worcestershire sauce

1 fresh clove garlic, minced

1 sprig fresh rosemary, finely chopped

2 t brown sugar

S&P

For 1 lb flank steak or carne asada

This is SO easy, put all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Then I pour it all in a large ziplock bag, add the steak, coat it and pop it in the fridge! You can also lay out the meat in a casserole or lasagna dish (8x12) salt and pepper the meat, and then add the rest of the ingredients, that have been whisked together, over the meat. Cover with saran wrap and pop in the fridge. I recommend at LEAST 24 hours if not 48 and your finished product will melt in the mouths of those you love!

When grilling, get the grill to about 350 degrees and add the steak. Only leave it on for a minute or two just to get those grill marks going, and flip it over. You want the internal temp to be 135 degrees for medium rare. That will only take a matter of minutes because the steak is so thin, so you need to watch it! Let it rest for a little bit while you set the table and pour the wine!

*This picture includes a bottle of Walt Pinot Noir. I have not been paid by them for this post, but I really do enjoy their wine, and this bottle of Clos Pepe pairs perfectly with this steak!
